Thanks, Hal, for your incisive analyses, including this take down of "Trumpelthinskinned". I'm a retired psychiatrist/physician and widely published ("Greeley's Newsletter" on substack) analyst of Our Mad King Donald's psychopathology and its evolution from his birth. One of my essays compares DJT's childhood with Herr Hitler's, both of whom were traumatized at a very young age. Your focus on DJT's (also true of Hitler) "thin skin" is diagnostic for "Borderline Personality Disorder" and explained on my substack page. The technical term is "rejection sensitivity" and DJT fits the diagnoses to a "T". This is so very important as such folks, so afflicted by very early maternal abandonment, will do anything and risk anything/anyone to avoid EVER being abandoned again, including sacrificing an entire nation of his fellows before committing suicide. They are avoiding, at all cost, of reexperiencing the utter terror a very young child (Trump was 2yo) felt when his mother suddenly abandoned him, including the terror of seeing his mother beaten to death by Hitler's beastly father. I suggest reading Alice Miller's 1983 "For Your own Good" to understand this dynamic. Thus, DJT has the basic psychological structure of a 2yo, not a 7yo, which you surmised. Have a blessed day!
