How many ICE agent's children are saying Happy Valentine's Day Daddy, thank you for making the country safe for kids like us?
It’s Valentine’s Day.
Presumably the ICE agents in the photo above have people in their lives whom they love and who love them. There are thousands of photos published like this one. It was on the main page of HuffPost.

There are also videos of masked ICE agents, their identities obscured by masks. I found five photos of agents wearing a mask with a skull on it .

This is similar to the Nazi SS “death’s head” symbol (read my Substack about this). These agents are shown on TV just about every day.
Many of the photos that make the news are of ICE agents and other federal enforcers acting with callous brutality. Others, like the one I am featuring, shows them simply walking down a street or standing around, often confronting protestors and sometimes pointing weapons at them.
I wonder how many of these agents go home and tell their loves ones that they made the news, that their photo was on the front page of a website or newspaper, or that clips of them were featured in news stories.
Do they tell them, “look, there’s Daddy behind that mask, the one on the right with the Yankees baseball cap. Aren’t you proud? I’m one of those brave agents they talk about in all those commercials making the country safe for kids like you.”
We can imagine the conversation going further. For example, a child may ask “how come you’re wearing a mask, Daddy?” I wonder what the answer would be.

“These are Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers.”
“They are friends and neighbors.. sons, fathers, they’re little league coaches and veterans, they’re people who love this country.”
“They are removing violent criminals from our streets and neighborhoods. It's dangerous and difficult work, but ICE has one mission: to make America a safer place to live and that's what they're doing.”
Just asking….

Happy Valentine's Day, Hal. Hard to juxtapose ICE and St Valintine, but you did it, and with panache. Edmond Rostand and Cyrano de Bergerac would want your autograph.
ICE is an agency supposedly constricted by law and regulation. BIG BELLY LAUGH. DHS now allows flexibility and "discretion" to it officers and agents that was unknown or allowed by previous DHS "editions". Progress is an unending line of experiments. Maybe this is the DHS of the future, an inventive attempt to change DHS lead to DHS Gold. That used to be the realm of alchemy. Now the Large Hadron Collider, turning lead into gold for just a fraction of a second, is doable. Applying that alchemistic theory to DHS, political scientists can create a future DHS that replicates the status quo, and thus eliminates dissent, protest, and application of constitutional amendments. TRULY WIN-WIN. In short, DHS Gold.
Now to St Valentine. I believe he was killed by the Roman Empire for being a Christian. Sound familiar? My creativity is sapped. Most everything coming from the administration in the media is not gold.
