Three sets of visuals should send a sobering message. Two are from Venezuela and one from Minneapolis. By Hal M. Brown
I’m not going to fill this Substack with photos of Amercian protestors facing off against armed Amercian federal agents (who Trump says and they may think have absolute immunity to get away with killing anyone, but they don’t - see article ).
I’m not going to show lots of photos of armed pro-Madura motorcycle gang members (see article) hunting for Trump supporters in Caracas, or aerial photos taken during the raid on Venezuela. Anyone paying attention has seen many of them.
Each group of photos makes a similar point. Trump and his supporters have not a friggen idea of what they have gotten themselves and the country into.
The photos of the protestors in Minneapolis have the most power because this is where an ICE agent murdered a young mother, but now we are seeing protests around the country including in my hometown where ICE agents have shot two more people who from all reports presented no imminent danger to anyone. This all adds up to Trump and his armed and unarmed enablers having declared war on more than half of the country.
I ask myself what kind of supervisor would allow their agent to hit the streets wearing a face covering like the agent in the photo used to illustrate this article?
The next thing I expect we’ll see is ICE adopting an emblem like the Totenkopf (death's head) symbol of the Nazi SS:
Then we fly about 2,800 miles south to Caracas and Venezuela, and we see what bloody chaos these American psychos are on the cusp of unleashing in another country.
In the streets of Caracas we have motorcycle thugs driving around carrying assault rifles hunting for anyone they think may support Trump and his kidnapping of the leader who they back.
Do the planners of this military misadventure think they can win this conflict without putting soldiers onto the streets of Caracas and other cities in Venezuela? If they do they need to go back for remedial classes in war college.
Then we have videos taken from American helicopters over the Venezuelan rainforest. Again, remedial classes in war college are called for. Have they conveniently forgotten how the air war over Vietnam’s jungles, even with the attempts to deforest them with Agent Orange, proved futile. As I wrote the other day, “To enforce the Donroe Doctrine, Trump may demand that Amercian troops fight and die in the Venezuelan rainforests.”
One more photo:
The jungle may look safe and even pretty from the air, but going after narco-gangs there will be as dangerous and deadly as it was for our soldiers when they fought Viet Cong guerillas in VietNam.
They will learn what landing in a hot LZ is like (read article), and what it means to hump the boonies (see artcile).
Trump and apparently his advisers, some in the military who should know better, think this will all be a walk in the park. What they refuse to admit or see is that this will be a park with both real and metaphorical IEDs and other booby traps. Consider the derivation of the term booby trap:
The term "booby trap" derives from the word "booby," which means a foolish or stupid person, originating from the Spanish word "bobo." Initially, it referred to simple traps that only a fool would fall for, but it evolved to describe harmful devices triggered by unsuspecting victims, especially in military contexts during World War I.
Ironically and fittingly it comes from the Spanish word “bobo.”
I suppose if, for them, a walk in the park involves dealing with poisonous snakes and people trying to kill them, they should just pack a picnic lunch and earn the name their enemy may call them:
Full disclosure: I never served in VietNam or the military. I did, however, start and run a commnity mental heath center program for Vietnam vets with PTSD in 1982.
Sabrina Haake published “Trumpist lies about this ICE outrage demand a fierce response — including murder charge” in RawStory, but I think it may only be available by subscription. If you can’t read it on this link, try reading it here on her Facebook page.
Here’s my comment:
In a just world with a just justice system this ICE agent would have his action objectively investigated. If there were the usual grounds for an indictment he’d end up being tried for whatever specific crime was appropriate for his killing Good. I have my doubts he will ever be in court. He’s already being hailed as a hero who, despite all actual evidence, risked his life against a terrorist who was trying to kill him, and ended him up in the hospital (even though he seemed just fine in videos after he shot her and ran down the street)...
How much noxious gas will the MAGA gaslighting machine manage to pump into their gaslighting attempt?
On another matter, first read the Politico article here:
Then read what I wrote about Trump wanting to be like Nero here.

I've been comparing Venezuela to Vietnam, too. The parallels are unmistakable.
